Letter from Dr Kendall

Dr. R. T. Kendall, former pastor for 25 years of Westminster Chapel in London, England

The greatest strategic decision I made in twenty-five years as Minister of Westminster Chapel was to invite Arthur Blessitt to minister to us there. His visit turned us upside down. He got us out on the streets, turned us into soul-winners; got us to singing contemporary hymns and songs, and gave me courage to do what was long overdue in my ministry.

Arthur and I have kept in touch over the years,  including appearing together a number of times on TBN’s “Praise the Lord’’; and not long ago we met unexpectedly in Denver. It was a beautiful, moving moment. We made a covenant, weeping together – ‘For the Glory of God, now more than ever’. I did not know we were being photographed, but I treasure it and share the photo with you.

In the meantime, something quite stupendous has happened regarding Arthur. His life will soon be on film, made available to cinemas all over the world beginning March 27, 2009. It is simply called ‘The Cross’. It is the story of Arthur and his carrying the cross on foot around the world which he began in Hollywood, California on Christmas Day 1969.

Backed by Matt Crouch and the Trinity Broadcasting Network this film should make an impact that is the virtual equivalent of Arthur’s actual walk. I have prayed that the film will literally have the same impact as if Arthur were carrying the cross before your very eyes. I predict that countless people will come to Jesus Christ as they have done during the past 40 years.

The purpose of this letter is to urge you to get behind this project and tell your friends. Pray that the anointing of the Holy Spirit will fall on all those who view it, and pray that it will bring great glory to God.
