Prayer is the way we talk to God. We thank him for helping us or we ask Him for help. I think there should be more to prayer than this.
God wants to spend time with us, but do we want to spend time with Him? I try to talk with God all day long. As soon as I awaken until the time I go to sleep. It is so important that we develop the mind set to talk with Him as much as possible.
We may ask, “Why don't some prayers get answered by God?' I think God knows what is best for us even when it is painful and hurtful. We cry out to God in pain! And it seems our prayers fall on deaf ears. “Why, God do you let us go through these times?' I don't know but I have faith that His will is more important than ours.
Some people say to me, maybe you're not praying for the right thing or in the right way. My God is not stupid! He knows what I'm praying about before I ask him. He just wants us to tell Him how we feel; He wants us to share our feelings of anger or love! He wants to be a part of our lives!
I stopped asking God to help me in part of my life because I felt my prayers where not doing any good. I was not getting them answered. That's not the way to do it. I'm now going to keep asking my God for help in that part of my life until it's answered one way or the other. I'm not going to stop talking and spending time with him for any reason.
Let God spend time with you. Talk with him like you do any other person, and he will love and bless you.
Keep on asking, and you will be given what you ask for. Keep on looking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened. Everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And the door is opened to everyone who knocks.
Matthew 7:7-8
Stay strong in God,
Joel Blessitt.
