The Fruit of the Spirit! “Faithfulness” “Faith” (Part 8)

‘The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.’ (Galatians 5:22-23 in the Holy Bible)

The word here is Faith or Faithfulness. The fruit of the Spirit produces in a person a life of faith and confidence!
In the life of the believer we are to live with inner peace and a total trust in God and His Way and Plan. Fear is to have no place in our lives because it has no place in our heart and mind because as I said where there is faith there is no fear. Thank you Jesus.
A person of faith does not fear the present or the future. No matter how tough it gets and what the troubles we face. The glorious Holy Spirit is at work in us to produce this Faith that gives us liberty in living.
A person in faith is free to live and move in peace and love and power. This person can face the future. You CAN have the FAITH to TRUST God!

Oh, how thrilling! What joy you can have! What faith!
I often have people say to me. “What faith you have! I wish I had your faith!’
Well, if you had my faith then I would have none! Ha! Now more to the point. The faith we are speaking of is the faith that is a gift from God.

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

Should you have Jesus in your life then you have as much faith anyone. The question is are you exercising the faith that is in you. This faith is a gift of God. It is time now to live in it. Don’t focus on getting more faith but focus on using the faith you now have in Christ Jesus.
Many people today are putting the emphasis on ‘faith’ and not on Jesus. The word faith today has become a religious and even political term. The ‘Faith Movement’ in church terms and in political terms ‘Faith-Based Organizations’. In Bible terms it simply means Jesus answering said “Have faith in God!’ Mark 11:22

Please consider the following verses from the Holy Bible:
Acts 24:24 He sent for Paul and heard him concerning the faith in Christ.
Acts 26:18 That they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me (Jesus).’
Romans 3:22 The righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ;
Romans 5:1-3
Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Galatians 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.
Galatians 2:20-21 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life, which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
Revelations 2: 13 And you hold fast to My name, and did not deny My faith

Faith is not just faith in some vague term or feeling.
Faith has a source, God
Faith has an object, Jesus

Consider this:
“For whatsoever is not of faith is sin.’ Romans 14:23

This is a great motivation for living in faith. See, sin is not just some outward action that is easy to point out. But the Bible says sin is everything we do that is not done in faith. Wow!
How then are we to live? We are to live in faith and simply ‘believe everything the Bible says’! Have faith in the promises of Jesus and go out and live them. Trust Jesus so much that you live with no walls and no limits to Him and His promises.
Should you feel your need to live more in this faith of the Lord Jesus Christ then ask Jesus to increase your faith!
I do not want to close this column just yet.
The word faith here in this passage is in many places translated faithfulness. All these gifts of the Holy Spirit relate to our everyday life. In this case we should consider that in the way we live we should be a faithful person.

Can people trust your word?
Do you keep appointments?
What about paying your bills?
Do you make promises that you do not keep?
Are you dependable?
Do you live what you profess?
Are you living what you believe?
Are you faithful to obey the speed limit?
You say you obey the law, but which ones.

You get the point. The gift of the Holy Spirit, faith should be producing in us a life of faithfulness in all things.

Make a commitment now to begin exercising your faith in all things!

“Lord Jesus fill me with all the fruits of the Holy Spirit’
Should you not know Jesus then you can call out the faith that is within you.

“Lord Jesus, save me now, I want to follow You always’.
