World Aid Program
World Aid Program
"Reaching out to the World in Love"
This is the most revolutionary concept in aid programs; it is simple, direct and eliminates the "middle man" and bureaucracy. Often, only a fraction of the money you give actually gets to the people who need the help. Too much is spent in administrative cost. This plan is simple, direct and eliminates the "middle man" and the bureaucracy.
You
Are the Key
You give direct to the place of need.
You give individually.
You can reach to small non-government organizations in the region who
work particularly with women and children.
You can organize your friends to give, organize your social club, or church.
You package the aid, mail it and pay the cost or postage.
You can even use your local post office to send the packages.
You make contact with the local person in charge of the project and ask
the needs direct!
You have personal contact and feedback from the field.
You give only what is needed so nothing is wasted and unused.
Anyone can do this; a housewife, working woman, businessman, organization,
philanthropist, student, teenager...
We supply you with the address, phone number, fax number, and e-mail address
of a contact person whom we know and can vouch for.
We let you know the need and then trust God to lead you to respond as
you feel led.
No guilt manipulation, no begging, no horror stories, just an honest need
that is shared.
Chitral-Pakistan
(The Arkari valley)
Located high in the Hindu Kush Mountains of the northwest province of Pakistan are some of the most spectacular valleys with glorious views in the world. Some of the mountains reach a height of over 25,000 feet with the local population living in valleys at about 10,000 to 12,500 feet. There are swift flowing streams coming down from the snow-covered mountains and glaciers. The valleys are narrow, sometimes only a few feet wide, and at other times they spread out a few hundred yards wide.
Every
inch is farmed in well-cultivated terraced fields of wheat or corn. These
are hard working people. This area is not stripped of the small trees
that hold the soil in place. It is very well cared for.
The
main problem for these people is that they are so isolated and have almost
nothing to live on, as they do not have the cash to buy anything. They
eat what they grow and that is ALL they have. Their staple is apricots,
apricot seeds, wheat bread and corn plus tea. There are goats from which
they get goat's milk to make yogurt. This is a valuable source of nourishment.
The houses are made of stone and the people sleeping on the floors on
mats made of straw and twigs. It is very cold in the winter and clothes
and supplies of all kinds are needed. There is no electricity, no running
water or sewage system in place.
These
are sharp, intelligent people. They are honest and deeply religious. They
are beautiful people.
The nearest city is Chitral, Pakistan located a half days drive along a one-lane narrow stone road. Chitral is a unique; it was once a kingdom of its own before being incorporated into Pakistan. It is cut off from the rest of the world for 6 months each year from November to May by heavy snows. There is no land route for Chitral. The only way in and out is by F-27 Fokker flights which are subject to weather. There is no hospital for advance treatment and many hundreds of people die due to the non-availability of medical treatment and to flights being canceled. Chitral was once a kingdom of its own before being incorporated into Pakistan. In Chitral there are supplies of every type that could be bought but the people with the needs do not have the cash.
God has raised up a local man of honor, vision and love to help care for the needs of these people. He is Mr. Syed Harir Shah. Syed operates the Chitral Travel Bureau which caters for tourists from all around the world. He has transportation, hotel facilities, and a deep responsibility for these people that we came to love so much. He is also in contact with other honorable men who are also committed to helping these people. They include Mr. Hasanali Shah, Mr. Abdul Akbar Khan, and seven other valley leaders.
Syed will receive YOUR supplies and support and see to its distribution to the people there. A local foundation called the "JAD Foundation" has been set up there to coordinate this effort to help the people in the valleys. You can now be a part from anywhere in the world!

Please state on your Customs Form for mailing "humanitarian aid", "clothes, supplies, no value". Do NOT put a value or they will have to pay a customs TAX in Pakistan. This is very important. We recommend using the regular postal service of your country for mailing your supplies. Regular mail will be delivered to the street address which is good, but shipping will go to the seaport a thousand miles away and have to clear customs there.
For more information please contact Syed direct.
