How to Judge Others

“Don’t”

No need to read any further.
Enough said.
But like any columnist this is too short so I will go on trying to explain the obvious.

As you are beginning to understand I am just talking freely in these columns and not trying to be preachy.

I feel that should I try to express my opinion on this subject then you can have a lot of questions. So I will just keep this one simple and let you deal with the Words of Jesus and the Bible.
I may add a short comment from time to time.

Jesus: “Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you”.
(Matthew 7:1-3 in the Holy Bible)

Jesus: “Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.”
(Luke 6:37-38 in the Holy Bible)

Jesus: “You judge according to the flesh; I judge no one. And yet if I do judge, My judgment is true; for I am not alone, but I am with the Father who sent Me”
(John 8:15-16 in the Holy Bible)

Jesus: “And if anyone hears My words and does not believe, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him — the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day”.
(John 12:47-49 in the Holy Bible)

“But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. ‘As I live’, says the LORD, ‘Every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall confess to God.’
So then each of us shall give account of himself to God. Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather resolve this, not to put a stumbling block or a cause to fall in our brother’s way.” (Romans 14:10-13 in the Holy Bible)

“But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you or by a human court. In fact, I do not even judge myself. For I know of nothing against myself, yet I am not justified by this; but He who judges me is the Lord. Consequently judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one’s praise will come from God. ”
(1 Corinthians 4:3-5 in the Holy Bible)

“Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. There is one Lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you to judge another? ”
(James 4:11-12 in the Holy Bible)

“The LORD will judge His people.”
“It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”
(Hebrews 10:30-31 in the Holy Bible)

Jesus: “But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the Day of judgment.
For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”
(Matthew 12:36-37 in the Holy Bible)

“Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things, which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.”
(Revelations 20:11-15 in the Holy Bible)
One reason for judging others is fear that they will get by with something. This fear causes one to seek to reveal and judge that person.

However, Jesus said, “For nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light.”
(Luke 8:17 in the Holy Bible)

“Some people’s sins are clearly evident, preceding them to judgment, but those of some people follow later. Likewise, the good works of some are clearly evident, and those that are otherwise cannot be hidden”.
(1 Timothy 5:24-25 in the Holy Bible)

When I was a teenager someone did a horrible thing to my father. I was full of anger and wanted vengeance. They could not get by with this. Yet my dad taught me a life lesson. Laying in the hospital bed he read to me these words:

“Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves. Vengeance is mine; I will repay, says the Lord.”
Romans 12:19

Everything will be known one day!
All truth will come out.
Some people are found out now.
Others will be exposed on Judgment day.
Don’t try to play God!
Let God do His work. I think I will focus on Me!
