Iceland is located in the North Atlantic between Norway and Greenland just a fraction south of the Arctic Circle.
I rented a car and drove around the island. I would stop and carry the cross in different areas. It was in May. Sometimes the road was covered in ice and mud.
I carried the cross in Akureyri, which is only a few kilometers south of the Arctic Circle. It was a wonderful joy carrying the cross through this city. The people were very nice, very friendly, and very curious. A newspaper reporter came out to do a story about the cross walk. I had good news coverage. Many people prayed to receive Jesus as Savior and Lord.
In Iceland there are glaciers but there is also many hot springs, it’s not nearly as cold as I would have thought it would be. It seems to just rain and there are cold winds and fog all the time. It is a very physically beautiful place, unlike any place you’ve ever seen before.
The people were lovely and it was great carrying the cross along the North Coast of Iceland.
I had a wonderful walk with the cross into the capital city of Reykjavik. I talked and prayed with many people.
