Sudan

1997 and South Sudan 2011

These photos here were taken by my wife through the hotel window as I arrived from a cross walk in Khartoum. They are not very clear but they are the best I could find at this time.

My wife, Denise and I flew into Khartoum, the capital to carry the cross in Sudan. We found a hotel room and carried the cross only in the city of Khartoum.

The people were friendly and most seemed ready to talk. We shared the message of the cross and of Jesus. It was a glorious time. We did not have any problems.
I will never forget one day when we arrived in front of the hotel the entire staff in the lobby and at the front desk rushed out to welcome the cross. They took turns carrying the cross and then one of the hotel workers carried the 12-foot cross into the hotel lobby. Everyone gathered around and several began to sing the Lord’s Prayer, “Our Father who art in Heaven!” I will never forget that awesome moment. We had prayer with everyone!

SouthSudan1SOUTH SUDAN: 2011
South Sudan became a new country and broke away from Sudan. Denise, Sophia and I went there over Christmas season and carried the cross. The people were very welcoming and many came to Jesus.

Jesus did it. All glory to God.
