We had a very wonderful time carrying the cross in Uganda. Denise and I flew into the airport and took a taxi into the city of Kampala, the capital. We based out of a hotel in the city center and I would carry the cross around the city.
I would take a taxi out to the countryside and spend the day walking back to our hotel in the city. I did this from several different directions.
The response was great and we prayed with many to come to Jesus.
In the streets crowds of people would gather to hear the message of Jesus. Most people wanted us to have big organized meetings. Many found it hard to understand that we were just walking with the cross and taking the message of Jesus person to person.
We had many deep conversations with the people, as they were eager to talk and pray.
I remember when I first started off with the cross on the first walk crowds gathered before I could take the first step!
We had great response from the newspapers and the TV.
